Heavy Equipment Inspector

Technica is currently recruiting for a full time non-exempt Heavy Equipment Inspector in Ft. Irwin, CA.

Responsibilities: • Performs inspections in accordance with the maintenance request, Army Regulations, and Technica's Quality Control Plan. • Estimates maintenance labor hours required and parts/materials costs associated with repair. • Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as US Army Combat and Tactical vehicles such as M1A2 tank, Bradley fighting vehicle, OSV vehicles, HMMWV's, and HEMTT's, cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trenchdigging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools. • Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. • Capable of performing maintenance such as welding broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.
Requirements:  • Must have a minimum of 3 years relevant and verifiable experience. • Must be familiar with AR 7501, AR 7355, DA PAM 7508, and other Army Regulations applicable to maintenance services. • Must be familiar with Technical Manuals (TMs), MAC times, engineering standards, and regulatory standards. • Must be able to comply with state licensing requirements and local motor vehicle laws. • Employees assigned to operate government-owned or government-leased equipment must be certified as being fully qualified to operate the vehicles or equipment to which they are assigned. • This position requires personnel to operate government-furnished vehicles or equipment, which will require a valid state driver's license or a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
