Technica seeks to fill the position of Paint & Body Specialist at Redstone Arsenal, AL
  • This position repairs damaged bodies and body parts of automotive vehicles, such as automobiles, buses, and light trucks according to repair manuals, using hand tools and power tools, removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fender, positions block against surface of dented area and beats opposite surface to remove dents using hammer, and fills depressions with solder or other plastic material. This position removes damaged fenders, panels, and grills, using wrenches and cutting torch, and bolts or welds replacement, straightens bent frames, using hydraulic jack and pulling device, files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
  • Refinishes repaired surface, using paint spray gun and sander, aims headlights, aligns wheels, bleeds hydraulic brake system, and may paint surface after performing body repairs.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Must be familiar with AR 7501, AR 7355, DA PAM 7508, and other Army Regulations applicable to maintenance services.
  • Must be familiar with Technical Manuals (TMs), MAC times, engineering standards, and regulatory standards.
  • Must be able to comply with state licensing requirements and local motor vehicle laws. Employees assigned to operate government‐owned or government‐leased equipment must be certified as being fully qualified to operate the vehicles or equipment to which they are assigned. This position may require personnel to operate government‐furnished vehicles or equipment, which will require a valid state driver's license or a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • If welding is required, personnel must be certified in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS)
  • Machinist certification may be required in accordance with ANSI/ASNT CP189 to a minimum level of "Limited Level II" in destructive and non‐destructive testing.
  • Shall obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance, if required.
