Corporate Human Resources Manager

Location: Charleston, SC
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for ongoing development and administration of effective policies, programs and processes covering the following areas: Recruiting, Hiring, Termination, Discipline, Training, Compensation, Benefits, Labor Relations and compliance with all EEO and Affirmative Action Program requirements. The HR Manager:
  • Communicates the vision of the company as a cost-conscious steward of government funds and a leader in efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Delegates work, manages subordinates and holds personnel accountable for performance
  • Presents cost/benefit analysis of outsourcing HR functions versus using in-house staff
  • Evaluates cases for automating manual processes where possible 
  • Generates reports on a routine and ad hoc basis
  • Continuously improves upon and develops efficiencies for routine HR activities
  • Provides sound recommendations to corporate management in non-routine HR events
  • Ensures HR policies, programs and processes comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Works with corporate and project management personnel to ensure HR policies, programs and processes are properly followed and executed company-wide
  • Ensures corporate and project staff adhere to the proper chain of communication for employee inquiries. 
  • Provides timely responses to requests from customers, management and other authorized entities
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Human Resources, with 5 years experience managing the HR functions of a company operating US federal contracts with 500 or more employees
  • Knowledge of and experience with contracts subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA), (including Directory of Occupations and Wage Determinations) and Collective Bargaining Agreements, Defense Base Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and National Labor Relations Act.
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time & Expense, MS Office and Adobe
  • Demonstrated supervisory, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to handle multiple issues and projects in a changing environment
  • Ability to establish priorities in a changing environment
  • Experience implementing new technologies to improve HR processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse group
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work
