General Service Mechanic

Technica is recruiting for the position of General Service Mechanic. The position is located in Anchorage, Alaska
  • The individual inspects and documents faults and corrective actions on authorized forms and performs services/repairs on heavy and light wheeled and tracked vehicles using hard copy and electronic technical manuals.
  • The individual replaces seals and shaft sealing rings, horns, wiring harnesses, starting switches, sensors, fuel pumps and water pumps; adjusts voltage and current control units, engine idle, brakes and transmission linkages; and clean or replaces filters, battery cables, engine components and injector nozzles.
  • Work will be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy and/or specialized military automotive equipment and other heavy equipment.
  • Must be familiar with AR 750-1, AR 735-5, DA PAM 750-8, and other Army Regulations applicable to maintenance services.
  • Must be familiar with Technical Manuals (TMs), MAC times, engineering and regulatory standards.
  • Must be able to comply with state licensing requirements and local motor vehicle laws. Employees assigned to operate government-owned or government-leased equipment must be certified as being fully qualified to operate the vehicles or equipment to which they are assigned. Must possess a current state driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
