Procurement/Cost Analyst

We are currently recruiting for a Procurement/Cost Analyst.  This position will perform procurement and cost analysis related to program operations in Barstow, CA. 

Position duties may include: 
  • Leads aspects of sourcing, which may include, Statement of Work preparation for subcontractors, vendors and material requisitions. 
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. 
  • Tracks the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders. 
  • Selects, and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, quality, and service.  
  • Follows up on until completion of order. 
  • Communicates with suppliers and resolves issues regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and change orders.  
  • Perform financial/administrative reporting for contracts and/or programs.  
  • Responsible for accurately forecasting the cost of future projects. 
  • Develops the cost information needed to make a bid for a contract or to determine if a proposed new product will be profitable. 
  • Compiles and analyzes data on all factors that can influence costs-such as materials, labor, location, and special equipment requirements. 
  • Estimates the costs of all items a vendor/supplier must provide. 
  • Must make decisions concerning equipment needs, sequence of operations and physical constraints at the site. 
  • Allowances for the waste of materials, inclement weather, shipping delays, and other factors that may increase costs also must be incorporated in the estimate. 
  • Prepares a cost summary for the entire project, including the costs of labor, equipment and materials, subcontracts and any other costs that may affect the project. 
  • Estimates costs or tracks actual costs relative to bid specifications as the project develops.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required in support of operations
  • Advance skillset in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Must have the ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others.
  • Must be able to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum of 3 years experience performing functions similar to this position.Degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable. 
Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a standard professional office setting.
