Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition)

Location: McGregor Range, New Mexico
Technica LLC seeks to fill a Supply Technician-Lead (ASP) position to perform on a Government contract with a place of performance at the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) located in the McGregor, New Mexico area under Ft. Bliss, Texas contract.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) uses subject-matter knowledge and judgement to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature, sequence and work-load, and is a working lead.  Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) is the key assistant to the ASP Supervisor in charge with delegated lead person authority to control and oversee other employees in the assigning, monitoring and performance of their daily assigned tasks; whether being Stock Control, Escort, Turn-in (Live/Residue), or Storage section positions.  This position performs aspects of ammunition technical management work (e.g., inventory management, SAAS storage management, Storage operations, issues, turn-ins, receipts, inter-depot transfers (IDTs) and out bounds) related depending on the section which they are assigned to.  Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical ammunition management operations, subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves overseeing the day to day operations of any given section, individual case problems, ammunition transaction or process in nature.  Though lead may be assigned to a specific section, lead can also be reassigned to oversee a different section or assist another lead with time sensitive work and to ensure accountability and safety.  Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) work requires consideration of program requirements, certifications and experience together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Tasks given to Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) primarily come from the ASP Supervisor; but in specific or unique circumstances may also come from Supply and Services Manager or higher authority.  Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) is a position of trust which enforces direction coming from ASP Supervisor, higher authority and critical to the integrity posture of the ammunition supply point.  Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) must enforce and maintain execution and performance standards in accordance with DA PAM 385-64, MILSTD 129-R, AR 190-11, AR 170-143, AR 750-1, AR 710- 2, AR 735-11-2, AR 725-50, DA Pam 710-2-2, AR 740-1, AR 735-5, AR 710-1, AR 710-3, DA Pam 710-7, AR 710-3, Inventory Management; DA Pam 710-2-1, FEDLOG and SAASMOD user’s manual.
 
The Supply Technician Lead (Ammunition) is the assistant to the supervisor in charge with delegated LEAD authority to direct, provide work assignments, directions, monitor, control and oversee Supply Technicians, Material Expediter Lead, Material Expediter, and General Clerks III in the assigning and performance of their daily tasks in order to make mission.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Maintains accountability of personnel, ammunition, equipment and facilities for section which is assigned.
  • Assist the ASP Supervisor in ensuring personnel assigned to section maintain certification and working knowledge or standard operating procedures and processes for section/area assigned.
  • Orders, receives, stores, maintains and issues supplies and equipment to support the daily operations.
  • Assists in ammunition accountability records. Determines condition of material and equipment. Arranges disposal when surplus or obsolete.
  • Maintains accountability of government furnished property assigned to the directorate/department in accordance with requirements of Federal Acquisitions Regulations.
  • Maintains files in accordance with Army Records Information Management System. (ARIMS)
  • Operates the SAAS-MOD (Standard Army Ammunition Systems-Modernized) system.
  • Operates the TAMIS (Total Ammunition Management Information System) system.
  • Establishes and maintains hand receipts and sub-hand receipts as required.
  • Assists in preparation and processes financial liability investigation of property loss and statement of charges on lost, destroyed, or damaged equipment.
  • Assists in resolving inventory and/or system problems.
  • Generates reports as directed or required.
  • Maintains ASP storage standards.
  • Duties may vary dependent on assigned department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or related to the overall operation of the section/branch that the position is assigned to perform in.
 
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
Education:   
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Former ammunition specialist, ammunition technician, or equivalent in either military or civilian sector
 
Experience/Certification: 
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience working at an Ammunition Supply Point or ammunition and explosives field.
  • Must have completed and/or must complete Ammo 45, 63, 64, 67, 68 within the first 30 days of assignment.
  • Must be knowledgeable and ability to be primary operator of the SAAS-MOD Ammunition System
  • Must be knowledgeable and have ability to be the primary operator of the TAMIS Ammunition System
  • Must be able to apply and receive NLAC (National Level Ammunition Capability) account authorization to order ammunition.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
 
Specialized knowledge and skills: 
  • MHE Experience preferred. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite and related applications.
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Must have high-level of organizational and planning skills.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Driver’s license may be required.
  • Competent demonstrated skill with all MS software to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic to accomplish work effectively and economically.
