Welder, Combination, Maintenance

Location: Fort Bliss, Texas
Technica LLC seeks to fill a Welder, Combination, Maintenance position to perform on a Government contract with a place of performance at Ft. Bliss, TX.
  • Fabricate, repair, and modify metallic and nonmetallic parts.
  • Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, equipment, motors, generators, and radiators according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
  • Utilize such machines as engine lathes, utility grinders, power cutoff saws, hydraulic presses, drill presses, oxyacetylene, electric arc, inert gas welding machines and their associated attachments, accessories and tools.
  • Performs precision welding involved in the repair, conversion, and fabrication of jigs, fixtures, dies, aid tools used to align, adjust, or position various units.
  • Welds a variety of ballistic armor joints required to repair combat vehicle hulls.
  • Compose welds that require complete penetration as well as complete fusion of base and filler metals while welding in hard to reach places.
  • Complete welds of armor plates in all positions (e.g., flat, horizontal, vertical, and/or overhead).
  • Welding armors of various sizes ranging.
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Perform other assigned duties elsewhere in the department as needed.
  • Must possess welding certification via the American Welding Society or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of practical welding experience
  • Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.
  • Must be able to stand for at least two continuous hours.
  • Must be able to work in cramped areas for at least two continuous hours.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI and CAC Card eligibility.
  • Prior service Army with Military Occupational Skill(s) Allied Trade Specialist (91E), Metal Worker (91W), (44B), or (44E) preferred.
