Gunsmith III

Location: Fort Bliss, Texas
Technica LLC seeks to fill a Gunsmith III position to perform on a Government contract with a place of performance at Ft. Bliss, TX.
  • Perform field level maintenance/repairs, to include technical inspections to determine faults and orders repair parts on the M9, M4, M16, M14 EBR, M500, M249, M240 Series, M2, M203, M320, MK19, M119A2 Howitzers, and 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm Mortars.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with leads and supervisor.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.

  • Former Soldier with prior military occupational skill (45B, 45K, 91F) ideal.
  • Position requires attendance at a formal one/two year accredited in-house gunsmith course, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience performing weapons repair and previous exposure to arms room procedures are required.
  • Background in military weapons to include inspection and repair is required. 
  • Must have knowledge of gunsmith tools and procedures, as well as knowledge of firearms operating principles. 
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 70lbs on occasion and at least 45lbs on a routine basis. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, and snow and sleet.
  • Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills
