Mechanic II ( Tactical Military Vehicle Worker)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Technica is accepting applications to fill the position of Mechanic II to perform services on a Government contract in Goose Creek, South Carolina working with military land vehicles including MRAPs, heavy wheeled and/or light wheeled Military Tactical Vehicles.

The Mechanic performs a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain military motor vehicles. The Mechanic places and maintains decals on vehicles, checks and replaces batteries, rotates, repairs, and replaces tires, washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles, drains, flushes, and replaces engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils, checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs, cleans and replaces oil and air filters. The Mechanic adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 year of relevant experience.
  • Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.
  • Must be able to stand for at least two continuous hours.
  • Must be able to work in cramped areas for at least two continuous hours.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be an U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Must provide own tools.  A tool list will be provided during the interview phase.
The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5:00pm. Overtime may be required.
