Transportation Manager 

Location: Richmond, VA
Technica seeks to fill the position of Transportation Manager at Richmond, VA.

Duties:
  • This position oversees a freight terminal responsible arranging transportation for all issue transactions.  
  • Directs employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts, DFTS, SDDC Global Freight Management (GFM) system applications, and completing required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation.  
  • Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.  
  • Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.  
  • Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations. Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.  
  • Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract.  
  • Uses DSS and other Government-provided Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS.  

Requirements:
  • Must be Fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes.
  • Experience shall include as a minimum three (3) years’ experience in transportation using DSS or equivalent automated WMS within the past five (5) years.
