Computer Systems Analyst I

Location: Fort Bliss, Texas
Technica seeks to fill the position of computer Systems Analyst I at Fort Bliss, TX.
  • Serves as a technical expert/advisor performing Network Management, Network Administration, System Administration, Information Assurance Security Officer, Information Management Officer and customer support for non-STAMIS computers.
  • Implements new system hardware and software and develops local operating procedures.
  • Monitors the ongoing operation of the network with specific interest and focus on logistic non-STAMIS maintained by the Fort Bliss Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO).
  • Analyzes equipment and software reliability and utilization reports to identify and correct problem areas and to establish computer and telecommunications performance levels. Assist with STAMIS when directed. Provides instruction to functional area users on database and file accessing techniques, search strategies, processing and space utilization efficiencies, database security procedures, backup and program recovery techniques, and testing techniques.
  • Performs feasibility studies in order to develop or modify information systems to meet user network and/or telecommunication requirements.
  • Assists with automation planning; serves as a staff advisor, and source of technical and operational expertise on all aspects of automation within the SASMO. Advises the SASMO customers as it relates to logistics systems.
  • Completed work is reviewed for timeliness, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.
  • Moving and lifting of automation equipment is sometimes necessary. Performs other duties and additional duties as assigned.
  • Obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be DOD 8570 Compliant which includes the following: CompTIA Security Plus Certification, CompTIA Network Plus Certification (CE) Computer Environment Certification. (Preferably a Microsoft Windows Certification).
  • Must have 5 years of hands on IT experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
 The ideal candidate must be extremely customer focused and capable of short range planning, analysis, and the ability to understand the overall mission. Demonstrated knowledge to operate and perform required duties using US Army Standard STAMIS/non-STAMIS and normally approved office computer automation equipment. Knowledge of hardware and software systems network operations function, communication protocols, and diagnostic tools to recover data, analyze computer problems, and provide assistance.
