Buyer

Location: Fort Irwin, California
Technica LLC (Technica) seeks to fill the position of Buyer on a Government contract at Ft. Irwin, CA.  

Responsibilities: • Plans, schedules, releases, and manages purchases. • Ensures compliance with Government policies throughout the procurement process. • Collects Request for Quotes based on requirements - ensuring flowdown of contractual requirements. • Performs cost/price analysis for competitive and non-competitive procurements. • Required to work in or around industrial environments and may be exposed to dust, dirt and noise. • Works with internal and external suppliers to resolve material issues (shortages, emergency customer demands, etc.). • Develops and maintains communication channels between various departments and the supply chain to maintain the flow of materials to support the customer. • Reviews, communicates and acts upon anticipated delays. • Reviews anticipated shortage reports for future demands. • Actively look for improvements in the process and with vendors in addition to maintaining and analyzing planning parameters. • Actively work on reducing lead times, support production improvements, and efficiencies. • Reconcile receipts, invoices, and OneSource records and submits to corporate office for closure. • Develops reports for customer review from historical data. • Support difficult customer situations. • Resolve complex supplier situations, if needed. • Solicit feedback from all areas of the organization to improve service, efficiency and continuity of supply.

Requirements: • Must have three years of commercial or government purchasing. • Must have experience working in a production control environment. • Experience in OneSource strongly desired • Must have and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license • Supply logistics background preferred. • Reporting writing experience preferred. • Must have high school diploma or equivalent. • Must be able to read and write English and be able to understand procedures. • Excellent verbal skills required. • Must be able to lift 25 pounds continuously, 50 pounds intermittently.
