Track Mechanic

Location: Fort Bliss, TX
Technica is recruiting for a Track Mechanic to work on a Government contract with a place of performance based out of Ft. Bliss, TX. This is a temporary position to support a potential surge.  The candidate MUST be capable and experienced on the following vehicles: M1 Tanks, M2/M3 Bradley and other track vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities:    
Perform Technical Inspections (TIs), verification inspections, preventive maintenance/repairs primarily on the M1 Abrams Tank, M2/M3 Bradley and other track vehicles as well as automotive systems, and various light/heavy-wheeled vehicles. Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions, performs field maintenance and on-board maintenance tasks on the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher / suppression systems, gas particulate systems, vehicular mounted armament, gun turret drive system and the fire control system. Replaces, repairs, adjusts/performs preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on diesel power plants/packs/units, compression engines, compression ignition engine fuel systems, compression ignition air induction systems, vehicle exhaust/liquid cooling systems, vehicle starting/charging systems, track vehicle hull electrical systems, standard/automatic transmission assemblies, cross-drive transmission assemblies, auxiliary drive assemblies, propeller shaft assemblies, air/hydraulic brake system, mechanical brake systems, track/wheel vehicle suspension systems, vehicle wheel/hub assemblies, mechanical/hydraulic steering systems, controlled differential steering systems, track vehicle hydraulic assemblies. Performs other duties assigned.
·       MUST be capable and experienced on the following vehicles: M1 Tanks, M2/M3 Bradley and other track vehicles.
·       Former Soldier with prior military occupational skill (MOS) 63A, 63T or 91A preferred.
·       Formal training (completion of MOS 63A, 63T or 91A course conducted under the auspices of the USA Ordnance Center and School) or three to five years’ experience working on the M1 tank.
·       Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.
·       Must have the ability to verify serviceability of equipment, determine the economic reparability of the item and determine the extent of maintenance effort and repair parts required to restore the item to the prescribed serviceable condition.
·       Must be familiar with DA Form 5988–E/DA Form 2404.
·       Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.
·       Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.
·       Must be able to stand for at least two continuous hours
·       Must be able to work in cramped areas for at least two continuous hours.
·       Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, and snow and sleet
·       Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
·       Must be able to obtain NACI.
·       Must be able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills
